Mt. Hood Lifestyle Bungalows are the result of a shared vision between Kip, a true local craftsman, and Brad, a Portland high tech entrepreneur. Two people with very different backgrounds and perspectives, they find common ground in their appreciation of the Mt. Hood Lifestyle.
Kip grew up on the mountain, and was an avid extreme skier, mountain biker and anything else that involved speed and action. He started his company on the mountain, Big Mountain Company, and built his first cabin in 2001 that Brad bought with a couple of friends.
Brad and his friends were amazed by the craftsmanship and comfort of that first cabin Kip built. After several years sharing this gateway to the Mt. Hood Lifestyle, Kip and Brad decided to build a bungalow so Brad and others could share the Mt. Hood Lifestyle with their friends.
Angela, Brad's wife, keeps the books and has helped us identify and characterize many of the recreational activities, especially the local food fare! She also inspires us with her constant support.
Kip and Brad share a passion for the beauty that defines The Mt. Hood Lifestyle. As a result, they've made every effort to preserve this beauty and the Mt. Hood Lifestyle for future generations. You may not see the results of this philosophy initially, but it's at work throughout your bungalow.
It's at work in the special insulation used to provide year-round comfort while minimizing energy use. It's at work in all the wood used in our bungalows, harvested and milled locally (by Kip himself) to reduce transportation energy use. It's at work in the latest septic technology used to ensure the water consumed in the bungalows returns safely to the local water table. It's at work in the green cleaning products used to gently achieve the highest housekeeping standards.
We're still learning more about how we can build better bungalows for the comfort of our guests while preserving the Mt. Hood Lifestyle for future generations.
